Meet Dr. Proussaefs, D.D.S., M.S., DABOI, FAAID
We proudly created the California Institute of Dental Education ("CIDE") to share our knowledge and expertise with the dental community.
The CIDE has been an approved continuing education provider by the Dental Board of California, the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Our Director, Dr. Periklis Proussaefs is a Certified Prosthodontist and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology. He is an Associate Professor at Loma Linda University. In year 2000, he completed a 3-year residency program in Prosthodontics, a separate 3-year residency program in Implant Dentistry, and a Master’ degree at Loma Linda university (LLU). Dr. Proussaefs has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in the dental literature. He has been on the editorial board for many scientific journals such as the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the Journal of Oral Implantology, the Journal of Prosthodontics, and many others. He has been an invited speaker in National and International dental conventions.
Dr. Proussaefs has been providing dental care for patients under I.V. (moderate) or oral (minimal) sedation having completed thousands of cases. Having tremendous exposure in sedating patients over the years, his seminars will be focused on SAFETY, and in particular airway management, patient monitoring, and handling emergencies. The course involves lecturing, hands-on practicing on a manikin, and real patient demonstration. The discussion with the instructor will focus on sharing the instructor’s 28 years of experience in sedating dental patients.

Our Facility has been an approved provider by the Dental Board of California to provide dentists with:
- Oral sedation permit certification and re-certification
- Continuing education courses toward Licensure renewal
